How To Achieve Your Fitness Goals This Year

It truly makes me happy to see all the new faces in the gym in the New Year.

January is the most popular month in gyms because people set huge fitness goals for themselves and new years resolutions. While some of the regular gym goers find this annoying because the gym is way more crowded than usual, it makes me happy to see people take the first step to start their fitness journey.

Here are a couple of tips to help you stay committed to your new goals and resolutions this year.

1. SET REALISTIC GOALS

Many people set one big goal for themselves (which is great) but in order to achieve that big goal, you need to set small wins along the way to keep you motivated.
Example:
I want to lose “X” amount of lbs
In order to achieve this you need to build small healthy habits along the way
1. Reduce sugar intake
2. Drink 2 litres of water a day
3. Do 20 minutes of a cardio 3x week

2. ACCOUNTABILITY

Having someone hold you accountable can be a key factor in your success. It can be as simple as having a friendly competition with friends (ie. sharing steps for the day or nutrition logs), writing down your goals and sharing with family and friends, or hiring a personal trainer. Accountability is what most people lack when starting their fitness journey and it can be one of the most important factors in achieving your goals.

My goal for 2017 is to help as many people as I can achieve their health and fitness goals.  I have a variety of options to do so, including Online Programs for home or gym, in Person Training, Bootcamps, and Custom Online Training.  If you are interested in knowing more, feel free to contact me at kayla@kdavisfitness.com, I would love to help be a part of your success this year!
